CRITERIA

First and foremost, immediate disqualification will result if the site has Java which will cause my workstation to crash.

The web site must have a purpose or a theme.

The web site must have a worthwhile content:

Is it beneficial or helpful to the visitors?

Is it valuable or useful to the net community?

Is it entertaining, interesting, or amusing?

The web site must have at least 10 pages.

The web site must have at least 80% of its contents on-site.

The web site must have an english translation available if it's a non-english site.

The web site must not contain any more than 5 spelling errors.

The web site must not crash my computer.

The web site must not steal 'bandwidth' from another site.

The web site must be 'family friendly' and therefore should not have contents or links that encourage or promote the following:

Hatred

The Occult

Pornography

Discrimination

Violence and Terrorism

Illegal and Unlawful Activities

Subjects that I might choose not to associate with.

Design

The web site must not have any broken internal links.

The web site must not have more than 2% of its external links broken.

The web site must not have any blinking backgrounds.

The web site must not have any horizontal scrolling of pages when viewed with an 800 x 600 screen.

The web site must not be under construction upon application.

The web site must not have more than 1 pop-up window on any of its pages.

The web site must not have any type of graphics that chase the mouse cursor as you move along the screen.

The web site must look good in at least 2 browsers. ( e.g. - Netscape 6.1 and Internet Explorer 6 )

The web site's individual pages must load within 60 seconds when using a 56k modem.

The web site must have an 'off' button for its background music.

The web site must have its mouse 'right-click' enabled.

The web site must be updated regularly.

The site must have uniformity of background, graphics, and text in all of its pages.

The 'four mouse clicks' rule must apply:

Any pages within the web site must be reached within four mouse clicks.

The length of 95% of your web site's pages must NOT exceed more than four mouse clicks when viewed by a 1024 X 768 screen.

Originality

The web site must have at least 50% original graphics.

The web site must have at least 50% original content.

The web site must give credit to borrowed contents and graphics.

The web site must not contain any stolen graphics or contents.

Functionality

The background, graphics, and text must be pleasing to the eyes.

The web site must be easy to navigate.

Winners will be notified by email.
